Description
2009 marks the 20-year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. See the city in change as you go on an extended sightseeing tour of Berlin.
We will see the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church, originally built in the 1890's and rebuilt sometime between 1959 and 1963 after being damaged in a bombing raid during World War II. Admire the spire of the old church and its memorial hall located at the ground floor.
We will also take a look at Berlin's Jewish Museum and stop at Checkpoint Charlie, a crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War which represented a gateway to freedom for some East Germans. We will have time to take photographs here, as well as at the Brandenburg Gate, one of the main symbols of Berlin and Germany and the only remaining gate of a series of entrances to Berlin.
The tour will also show you the Europe-Center, Bauhaus Museum, the New National Gallery, Philharmonic Hall, Potsdam Square/Sony-Center, Nicolas Quarter and many other tourist spots.
