Escape Chiang Mai and immerse yourself in the remoteness of a forest and beautiful scenic views as we ride 35 km on some great cross country trails.

Our ride is through the Mae Wang conservation forest in the midst of a mountain complex that is the watershed for dozens of waterfalls. We will have the trail to ourselves as we cycle on dirt roads and single track through a shady forest where you will hear birds and maybe even sight monkeys.

The trail will take us up to an elevation of 1000 m above sea level and to cooler temperatures with a refreshing breeze. We ride 20 km up and down before reaching the home of a colorful hill-tribe for lunch. Many of the ethnic tribes in the area fled from China or Burma more then 200 years ago, escaping various wars. They still practice their traditional ways and we will be invited into their home and enjoy a healthy lunch. After our break and getting to know our hosts it's time for more adventure.

Hopping right back on our bikes we pass by local villages as ride to a beautiful 20-metre high waterfall. This is the source of Mae Wang river with a steady flow all year round. Go on foot across a bamboo bridge and feel free to jump in the water. Once refreshed we head back down through a teak wood forest as we emerge from the wilderness into civilization.

This ride is suggested for those who like to ride off road and have some experience doing so. We'd recommend a reasonable level of fitness to be able to enjoy this 35 km ride. There is vehicle support to supply fresh water and snacks during the ride.

Please Note
- Participants must be at least 18 years old to join the regular/scheduled tours.
- Guests younger than 18 may join private tours; children under the age 5 will be free of charge.
- Children joining the tours should be competent cyclist as there might be some narrow pathways.
- This tour has a 2 passenger minimum requirement for operation and is subject to cancellation if this minimum is not met. Please call at least 24 hours prior to departure to confirm schedule.
